Poker is a game of risk, which is played using a pack that contains 52 cards. Its rules are very easy to understand and one need to be familiar with the poker rules before playing it. Usually this game is played by two or more players. One can play free online poker games without downloading. Before deal, the first player should put blind bet and the second have to place big blind bet. The trader deals two cards to players; the cards are then dealt in clockwise, starting with the player sitting next to the trader.

As soon as the cards are dealt the players have to put their bets. They can place a bet equivalent to the blind bets and raise the bet value by twice the blind bet. After betting round, the first cards are kept facing up and the rest of them facing down. Once the cards are kept on the table the bets are placed by the players. Now the game moves to another round known as river and here one cards face up and other down. After this round poker rule determines the winner’s hand. If there is no winning hand then the player with highest value card wins the amount.

Ahhh, is on Wednesday night, time to tune the travel channel. Why? Poker tournaments, my friends and the game they play is called Texas Hold ‘Em. But anyone can learn to play like the pros on TV? Is it as simple and easy as it seems? Let’s look at some of the little things that can make or break you at the poker table.

“Poker requires luck or skill? Some play the game and seems to hit all the necessary cards for a winning hand. Others, with a hand that could beat any side in the table, slyly walk away with the pot and a wink and a smile.

So the answer to the question, seems to be that is a bit of both luck and skill necessary to be a successful player. After all, the game is a game of chance.

But consider this: some mathematicians contend that the odds of getting a royal flush is 1 in 649,739. Therefore, taking into account the probabilities, it is likely that if you rely on the luck of the draw which will undoubtedly lose more than they will win.

So how do you become an experienced player and win all the time? Well, can become an experienced poker player, but, unfortunately, will not win all the time. Poker takes skill and the old adage, know when to Hold ‘em, know when to fold’ certainly has a ring of truth to it. You should also take into account the skill level of players at the table, his bluff and betting skills, which is at stake and, of course, luck.

Here are some important tips for successful poker player:

Do not play if you can not afford to lose. People lose lots of money because of the lack of planning and somehow playing over their heads, they do not know when to stop. Select an amount to play and stick to it. Also, do not borrow money to gamble, you just add more pressure on having to gamble with borrowed funds. A budget and stick to it!

If you are serious about winning, avoid alcohol. You can bet I would normally do. Play with your head clear.

Do not play if you are stressed or emotional as it is not in the right frame of mind can cost you big on the poker table. Listen carefully. If your mind is preoccupied by other problems, his trial will suffer and you’re open to critical errors.

Study your opponents and define who they are and how they play the game. You may have to adapt to your playing style. Do not be intimidated by the aggressiveness of a particular player or inaction of another.

Do not wait for the cards, usually do not come. Do not be afraid to turn poor hand. Poker is a game a long time and not get into a winner every time.

Display a “poker face.” Their expressions and gestures can tell a lot about his hand, even the most inexperienced players. If you have good cards or a terrible hand, it is best to show the same emotion and not transmit any clues to other players. Conversely, if you are an experienced player, you can use this “poker face” style to your advantage to project false “tells” from other players and force false readings on your part. You can pretend to have a powerful hand antics aggressive betting table, or talk and throw a bluff successfully.

Patience is the key and you must know when to bet. Have knowledge of when to bet and get a feel for the game. Bet with care and control. Note that a bluff will not work if you are a poor player and eventually experienced players this regard to find you apart, so that his night short.

Practice! Practice with low stakes games, handheld games or play for fun as you improve your game and skills. Read articles, books and ask other players about the game and the different situations that might occur.

There are thousands of poker books written with tips, guidelines, rules and regulations, but the important point to remember is your poker strategy and play. Practice, refine and define who you are as a poker player. Know your limits, play the odds and odds are they will leave a winner!

Texas Hold’em has quickly become a staple on TV, in casinos, and in living rooms around the country.

You must know how to play, and how to play well. Whether you want to beat your friends in a friendly home game, or make some money playing online or at a brick and mortar casino, or compete in a tournament, the following tips will show you how you can begin a journey which can be fun and rewarding.

You can begin by…

PLAYING FOR FREE

Admittedly, playing poker free without anything at stake is usually boring and unrewarding.

However, the majority of online poker sites still offer the option to play poker using free money. Anyone who opens an account receives a small sum of play money he or she can use at the play money tables. There they can play in the same manner that the real money tables use.

Now clearly the level of competition and the quality of the strategies are not those you will usually find at a real money table. That is not to say that the free tables are not without purpose. Since the site will keep records of the amount of free money you win, there will be a steady increase in the level of play as you start entering into tables where the stakes are higher. For instance, if you were to start out with 1,000 dollars and slowly work your way up to a sum of 20,000 dollars, allowing you to enter into tournaments where the buy-in is 3,000 and up, then you would be playing against higher caliber opponents. As a result online poker for free does have its own level of competition and depth.

When you have mastered the play money tables, you can then begin playing at the real money tables. Take the time to play for free and think of the decisive advantages it presents:

1. Gain a knowledge of the best starting hands in Texas Hold em.

2. You learned to harness the power of position at the poker table.

3. You have grown in your understanding of betting and the various betting strategies

4. Grasped the ability to speak poker slang without looking like an idiot at the tables.

5. You understand there is a proper code of conduct known as poker etiquette.

So what are you waiting on? Do a search on online poker reviews and find the poker-client that best suits your needs. While you begin learning to play poker for free, you should…

BUY THE BEST POKER BOOKS

A large number of poker players find their introduction to the game of Texas Holdem through some of the best poker books.

With Texas Hold’em experiencing such a rapid growth in the past several years, there are more poker books than ever before, however you want in your possession the best poker books. Read poker book reviews and find the top poker books especially for beginning poker players. However, take the time to search the Internet for information on how to play poker and the different Texas Hold em starting hands before starting out.

Good poker books can help you improve techniques to your game that you may have not known or have ignored. You also might find that during a bad poker run, re-reading your favorite poker book can help you return to the essentials and point out some probable weaknesses in your game.

Do yourself a favor and read nothing but the best poker books that will help you to learn how to play poker. Now there is one other tip you should utilize if you want to learn how to play…

FIND A POKER COACH

If you are serious about learning to play poker and wanting to win money, you should consider a poker coach. You are aware every professional athlete has a “go to person.”

Hank Haney tutors the prolific Tiger Woods to keep him in check and perfect his swing. Heck, even Michael Jordan himself had a mentor. Every paid athlete regardless of the sport has a tutor or a trainer to maintain his or her discipline… Always helping with strategy and perfecting the game.

Poker is a people game and coaching is a people thing. A poker coach can see what you are doing wrong and immediately correct you. That is hard and perhaps impossible to do on your own.

If you’re serious about playing poker then you should take playing poker serious enough to find a good poker coach. Having someone to critique your play may save your bankroll down the road.

Learning to play poker takes a minute to learn and a life-time to master. With the aforementioned tips it will make learning to play easier. Good luck at the tables.

Many experienced players have learned to play well in the pre-flop. They know exactly when to call, raise or fold. Surprisingly, these same players to make terrible decisions post-flop, especially when playing games low limit hold’em. Your problem is not because they call too often, but because when they should fold. These players probably think they should be playing a clever game tight-aggressive. And sometimes that’s why most of the time unless you have a very strong hand and has good drainage. But what really happens is that they forget to take into account the possibilities they are receiving.

For example, in the big blind, a player has a king and eight of spades. One of his opponents increase in middle position and four other players call. This player also calls. On the table, the flop is composed of a king of clubs, a ten and a two of diamonds. Then the small blind bets out. Our poker player tilts sometimes. But it will be bad times. The analysis of his letters, which still has great difficulties for their money, but his kicker is not exactly the best. He has top pair and you might even end up getting two pairs or trips. True, there is a good possibility that one of your opponents will win. However, the boat has so much money that our player should at least call a bet.

Making a bad can sometimes be the biggest mistake a poker player does. To avoid this error, the player must remember that there are actually two important decisions must be made. One is in pre-flop, and the second is on the turn.

In the pre-flop, the player must decide whether to play the hand or not. On the flop, the player usually do or a small bet, therefore, flop decisions are not really significant. In the post-flop, in turn, the player takes into account the probabilities by hand, and the hands of their opponents. When the player decides to call time will be convenient for him also call river. When he does both, it means he is making two big bets. This may seem risky, but it is tragic to fold a winning hand in the river. “

Assumed that the boat was raised pre-flop and only makes a bet post-flop, a player can retire on lap. Obviously, he lost. But money is lost certainly less than it would have lost if he had called for a confrontation.

Finally, the river is not a good time to retire. There are only two situations in which a player needs in the river sometimes. First, a player must retire when he misses a draw. And secondly, if there is a lot of bets and money. This indicates that the player’s hand is probably the weakest.

Only optimists playing poker. Why even bother a pessimist? It would be pointless even trying. After all, poker is a game about winning. The game is mostly winning. And a serious player (or a fan who takes the game seriously) is always in search of a new technique that can stack the odds in your favor.

Now I had a fun few weeks ago. I am a hypnotherapist and sell a lot of mp3 downloads from my website. I had an e-mail from a potential client asking why I sold CDs to win at poker and not to win at the dog track … Interesting concept.

Now my mind began to work overtime in this case. The initial image that sprang to mind was all of these dogs to be hypnotized to win your race! Or maybe it was to hypnotize our aspiring player so he could cast spells on the dogs to ensure in particular, in fact, win …. Can not see the feasibility in any of these, my next thought was to re-read the email to verify that he had read correctly. Perhaps, I thought, was to ask why I had a CD designed to help you stop playing poker, and not allow other forms of gambling, what made me the title of the CD in question – is “stop playing” , so no, this latest interpretation of the e-mail was not possible and in any case had clearly asked the question of who first had to read.

Back again. What could be going to stop? How could you use hypnosis to help someone win at the dog races? You can help someone to remain calm and think clearly and therefore make better decisions. That’s more than possible. But would it be relevant? Maybe. You can help someone have a cutoff point at which they stopped once they came to this event, which will help you quit smoking before or at the same time, or quit before too much.

We got into a bit of an email exchange, and consultation with this person seems to be rooted in the belief that you could learn to have a better “feel” to choose the winner. I have to admit that not completely sold on the concept, but I am open to proof otherwise. I still do not quite know how to hypnotize someone to get a feeling.

Now, poker is very different. It is a very mental and emotional game, and assistance can be given in terms of increased concentration, better care, stay calm, making good reads and decisions, therefore, much to collect the unconscious signals of the other players, while control of their own unconscious behavior, and so on. And for serious players, hypnosis can do more than just a little to help. You may have seen Derren Brown on UK TV in a week where he attended a poker game lady not quite “advanced” years (ie, the most likely we could find) with hypnosis, and then beat several experienced professionals!

Returning to this exchange of e-mail, I concluded that I was just searching for every possible edge, whether credible or not …. And just show always this optimistic character of a player.

Home poker tournaments are becoming more and more popular. By knowing how to deal with certain circumstances your tournaments will run more smoothly, and be more fun for everyone. This article deals with removing low value chips from the tables by means of a chip race.

When a poker tournament begins, each player usually starts with a healthy stack of chips that are the lowest denomination. After all, you’ll need them to pay the blinds, and probably for all of the betting during the first few blind levels.

But, as time passes and the blinds increase, these smaller chips eventually are more bothersome than helpful. With blinds at $75 and $150, putting up fifteen $10 chips to pay a big blind is not convenient.

So, once a chip value is no longer needed to pay any of the remaining blinds on the schedule, those chips are removed from play. When possible, they are cashed in at face value for a higher denomination chip. But, someone is bound to have the odd chip or two, and that brings us to the question of how to remove those odd chips from play as well.

The first way to deal with this situation is to ignore it. It won’t go away, but those leftover $10 chips will only be put into play when a player is going all-in. At that time you can sort out any situations as they occur. Eventually one player will gather enough of the small chips to cash them in.

Or, you can race off the smallest chips of the smallest value. A chip race begins with the player in the dealer’s position. For each odd chip they have, they receive one card, face up. So, if the dealer has three odd chips, he will receive three cards face up.

This continues around the table until all the players have given their odd chips in exchange for cards.

At that point, the collected chips are totalled and a pile of the same value is made using the next higher chip denomination. So, if $100 worth of $10 was collected, $100 of the next highest chip value (perhaps $25’s) would be set aside to award in the race.

If the numbers do not match, they are rounded up. So, if $120 worth of $10 chips were collected, $125 worth of $25 chips would be awarded in the race.

Now, the awarding of the chips. The player with the highest card receives one chip. Then the player with the second highest card. And so on. Each player may only receive one chip, so once a player is awarded a chip in the race, all of his cards are taken from him.

It is important to note that a chip race cannot eliminate anyone from a tournament. If a player has only one small chip left when the race begins, that chip is traded in for a card as usual. Should he lose in the chip race, and additional chip of the new value is given to him so that he may keep his place in the tournament.

Chip races can be fun and interesting, or bothersome, depending upon the situation. In our local tournaments we simply leave the odd chips on the tables until the final table is formed.
At that point we race off all the unused colors.

Handle things in a way that works for you when hosting a tournament. Still, should someone ask about chp races, now you know the ins and outs of the process.

Are you looking for some inside information on internet poker? Here’s an up-to-date report from internet poker experts who should know.

There are several types of poker games now played around the world, privately, in a casino, and now, online. Each variant has its own strategy and set of rules, though the concept remains the same. The best hand wins. Developing your strategy is key to playing a good game. In poker, you are almost always playing to win, especially when money is at stake. You want to minimize your risk while maximizing your winnings. There are two types of poker discussed here, limit and no-limit.

Limit poker is recommended for beginners where a set amount is bet. In no-limit poker, however, you are able to win big pots with all-in bets, even when you don’t have the best hand. This is not recommended for beginners as they often make mistakes that wind up costing them a lot of money. If you are a beginner it is advised that you stick to limit poker until you are a more experienced player and have had an opportunity to develop your strategy.

No-limit texas Hold’em strategy. In no-limit Texas Hold’em poker, the all-in factor is what allows you to bully your opponents and take a dominating position in the game. This strategy can work for you if you know how to use it.

One of the best times to go all-in is when you steel a pot from your opponent, however, when you do this, you must be sure the hand meets these conditions.

You want outs. If your opponent calls, there should be cards left in the deck that could help you win the hand. Even if the odds are bad, you still want outs.

You must have a solid read on your opponent. If you are going to steel a pot, you must be confident that the other player will fold.

Those of you not familiar with the latest on internet poker now have at least a basic understanding. But there’s more to come.

You want to have good positioning. Though this isn’t considered to be as important as the first two conditions, positioning is what usually allows you to get a solid read on opponents.

The key is knowing that your opponent will fold. If you choose to play a hand aggressively, know that it could lead to higher bets. This is why you want to go after players who have shorter stacks than you. If a worst-case scenario occurs and you lose an all-in match, you are still not out of the game.

A secondary benefit to this strategy is that if a player has fewer chips it will be easier to play the hand more aggressively and will further lower your risk.

No matter what strategy you try to adopt, remember that it is important to know as much about the habits of your opponents as possible. You will want to use different strategies in different situations, and in different games with different opponents.

When you break out the 52-card deck and deal a hand of 3-card poker, the first strategy you need is a firm understanding of the rules. Rather than competing against other players, you are competing against the dealer. You need a better hand than the dealer (and at least a pair) to win. Each of you is dealt three cards, and the cards are shuffled after each hand. Because there are fewer ways to make a straight with 3 cards than a flush, straights rank higher. Aces are high or low.

You can make two bets: the Ante and the Pair Plus. The Ante is the fee charged to you for playing the hand. The Pair Plus is your bet that you will get a hand with a pair or higher. You don’t have to make both bets, but you do at least have to bet the Ante to stay in the game.

You ante when you put your bet on the game table’s Ante spot. Both you and the dealer are dealt three cards face down. Your next decision? Are these cards good enough for you to bet or should you fold? Fold and lose the ante. Bet and you place your bet that equals the ante in the game table’s Play spot. Win and you get the Ante and the Pair Plus payouts.

The dealer has to have a Queen or better to stay in the game. If not, you get payment on their ante only if it pays even money (1 to 1) – and as long as you didn’t fold.

Ante Payout

- A straight gets a 1 to 1 payout.
- A three of a kind gets a 4 to 1 payout.
- A straight flush gets a 5 to 1 payout.

Pair Plus Payout

- A pair gets a 1 to 1 payout.
- A flush gets a 4 to 1 payout.
- A straight gets a 6 to 1 payout.
- A three of a kind gets a 30 to 1 payout.
- A straight flush gets a 40 to 1 payout.

Remember these tips to help your strategy:

- If you have a Queen or better, bet the Pair Plus. If not, fold.
- A dealer will get a Queen about 66% of the time.
- The house has a 3.4% advantage.
