Only Optimists Win at Poker

Only optimists playing poker. Why even bother a pessimist? It would be pointless even trying. After all, poker is a game about winning. The game is mostly winning. And a serious player (or a fan who takes the game seriously) is always in search of a new technique that can stack the odds in your favor.
Now I had a fun few weeks ago. I am a hypnotherapist and sell a lot of mp3 downloads from my website. I had an e-mail from a potential client asking why I sold CDs to win at poker and not to win at the dog track … Interesting concept.
Now my mind began to work overtime in this case. The initial image that sprang to mind was all of these dogs to be hypnotized to win your race! Or maybe it was to hypnotize our aspiring player so he could cast spells on the dogs to ensure in particular, in fact, win …. Can not see the feasibility in any of these, my next thought was to re-read the email to verify that he had read correctly. Perhaps, I thought, was to ask why I had a CD designed to help you stop playing poker, and not allow other forms of gambling, what made me the title of the CD in question – is “stop playing” , so no, this latest interpretation of the e-mail was not possible and in any case had clearly asked the question of who first had to read.
Back again. What could be going to stop? How could you use hypnosis to help someone win at the dog races? You can help someone to remain calm and think clearly and therefore make better decisions. That’s more than possible. But would it be relevant? Maybe. You can help someone have a cutoff point at which they stopped once they came to this event, which will help you quit smoking before or at the same time, or quit before too much.
We got into a bit of an email exchange, and consultation with this person seems to be rooted in the belief that you could learn to have a better “feel” to choose the winner. I have to admit that not completely sold on the concept, but I am open to proof otherwise. I still do not quite know how to hypnotize someone to get a feeling.
Now, poker is very different. It is a very mental and emotional game, and assistance can be given in terms of increased concentration, better care, stay calm, making good reads and decisions, therefore, much to collect the unconscious signals of the other players, while control of their own unconscious behavior, and so on. And for serious players, hypnosis can do more than just a little to help. You may have seen Derren Brown on UK TV in a week where he attended a poker game lady not quite “advanced” years (ie, the most likely we could find) with hypnosis, and then beat several experienced professionals!
Returning to this exchange of e-mail, I concluded that I was just searching for every possible edge, whether credible or not …. And just show always this optimistic character of a player.
